Pathways to Freedom Part 2

Please register below to attend this community conversation on racism, antisemitism, and what embodied tools we have to pursue interconnected liberation, led by facilitators Marissa Lapedis and Shira Concool. Together, we will sit with the question: “What does it mean to be a Jewish person pursuing justice in today’s world?”

This is our second discussion on this subject. If you didn’t attend our first discussion, you are welcome! However, please come prepared by reviewing our session outline (below) and doing some pre-work/personal reflection in advance of June 2 (sent once registered).

Session Outline:

1. Exploring trauma mapping and anti-semitism, as well as the connection to patterns of violence and reconciliation (including a personal embodied look at our relationship to Palestine and Israel)

2. Imagining collective liberation: how do we understand this, what does it look like, what are current local organizing efforts

3. Anti-Racist Manifesto: what are both personal and Ma'alot community-wide hopes in terms of commitments and actions fighting racism and anti-semitism?

This conversation is best suited for individuals age 16 or older. We welcome people of all racial backgrounds, who are connected to Ma'alot in any way, to join in this discussion.

Venue: We will meet in a local Decatur home. Please email tess@maalotatlanta.com with any accessibility needs.
