In 2020, a new spiritual community launched in intown Atlanta to complement the rich Jewish ecosystem of our city—a community built by and for diverse individuals, interfaith families, kids of all ages, couples and single people, queer and trans people, Jews of color and white Jews, religious, secular, and atheist Jews, and anyone, Jewish or not Jewish, interested in exploring and experiencing Jewish life.
In our first years together, Ma’alot’s builders contributed time, talent, and financial resources to get our new community off the ground. Now is a special moment in our trajectory to join our rabbi and this visionary group as a “builder.” Builders have a say in our programs, our plans, and our direction as a community. Showing up as a builder makes the statement that we don’t want to settle for the status quo, and that authentic relationships, gatherings, and spiritual moments in nature and with each other are worthy of our resources. Last but not least, becoming a builder means you get to skip the lines on the most popular stuff we do, including:

How we calculate: Builder Share
Our annual budget is $141,992. We currently have 50 households giving monthly. “Sustaining shares” refer to the total budget expenses for the year divided evenly by our target builder ship of 150 of adult members. This year, a builder share is $929/individual member/year.
Please calculate your annual dues for the total number of adults in your household to determine your builder share. Financial support makes our community possible, and we ask each person to determine a monthly contribution that is meaningful, significant, and affordable to you.
Builder+ If you are fortunate enough to be able to do so, please consider becoming a Builder+ and giving $5,000 per year. Your generosity is integral to the sustainability of our voluntary dues model. We invite members, friends, and family with capacity to contribute seed gifts at $10,000, $5,000 and $3,000. Please consider making a multi-year pledge. Make no mistake, your support means we can try more new things and help the people who need it.
