How does it feel to sing before a hundred burning candles? Let’s find out.
Join Ma’alot and partners for a local hike for the final night of Hanukkah. Through exploring our ancient relationship with fire, and warming ourselves with communal song, we will raise up the final day of this ancient winter celebration. If you have one, bring your own hannukiyah (8 branched menorah for hanukkah) and candles to light in community, or just come and enjoy the lights. We’ll end with a communal fireside jam and s’mores! Song sheet here.
People of all identities, faiths and backgrounds welcome. This event is free, but requires registration. If you want to stay for Chinese food dinner, you can pitch in at $12 to cover food costs.
For those with limited mobility, please join us at 4:45 when we will return to the firepit by the parking lot to light our hannukkiyot, sing together and enjoy s'mores by the fire. The firepit is walker and wheelchair accessible on a paved path, about a 5 minute walk. Cars can pull all the way up to this paved walkway from the parking lot, and then circle back to park.
