Wisdom Circles are monthly, co-led gatherings that offer deep connection, personal reflection, and collaborative learning rooted in Jewish wisdom. Circles receive a year of training and on-hands support to launch from a social worker and Jewish educator.
Join us for a musical service to welcome in Shabbat, followed by a delicious vegetarian/dairy potluck dinner.
We believe that it’s better to offer a few words of prayer with kavvanah (intention and feeling) than many words without it. (Rambam agrees). So we sing just one verse from various psalms of Kabbalat Shabbat, and we sing it over and over so we can really feel it. No need to flip through a heavy prayer book, all the words you need are on one sheet, complete with English transliteration and translation. You could dance and jump, cry, laugh, or sit in silence and stillness. We embrace it all, the highs and lows, the joy and the grief, together.
Tu B’Shvat, the New Year of the Trees, invites us to slow down and notice what is quietly beginning to grow.
This Sunday midday gathering is designed as an inclusive, relational practice—rooted in Jewish tradition and grounded in real life. We’ll begin with a 20-minute Tu B’Shvat seder for all ages, tasting fruits and wine into a hearty lunch. Our Seder will explore the Four Worlds as a way of paying attention: to land, to one another, to the wider world, and to spirit. No prior knowledge needed.
Parsley planting for Passover, a hands-on, family-friendly activity connecting this season to what’s ahead
A garden walk and tree stories, with a few shared reflections on trees that have shaped us—trees of childhood, of grief or return, of patience and resilience
We’ll close with song and blessings by 2:00pm, and you are welcome to continue hanging out at the gardens.
